Before your Session!

First things, first!

Fill out the questionnaire sent to your (or your parents) email. This helps me get to know a little about you and create a session that will showcase you best!


Pick a location! The best locations mean something to you OR have interesting textures and elements. Seniors do a lot of leaning, sitting, and standing on or near walls, trees, benches etc. Check out my location guide for some good options!


Choose two to three outfits to wear during your session. Make sure they are clean and wrinkle-free. Don't forget to bring matching socks and shoes for each outfit if one pair won’t go along with all of them.


If you plan to bring any props – your Cap and gown, flowers, sports equipment, instrument, etc. – get those ready! If you are going to bring your car or truck to the session and want it to be in photos with you, be sure to wash it the night before/day of your session, unless your vibe is mud covered, we can work with that too!


Get a good night’s rest the night before your session!

What to wear?

Wear Your Favorite Clothing

Feeling comfortable and yourself is priority number one for senior pictures. Think about the pieces of clothing you always turn to when you want to feel your best; these are great options for your portraits. 


Try Something New 

Sometimes it’s nice to have an excuse to buy something new. Hit the store for a new shirt or pair of jeans to feel extra confident at your session. 


Wear Clothes and Shoes You Can Move Around In

We’ll be posing, walking around, standing up, and sitting down. Make sure that you feel comfortable moving around freely in your outfit.


Avoid Super Loud Colors and Prints 

The best senior portraits don’t detract from your face and blend well into the backdrop. Try to avoid neon colors, flashy prints, bright red, and yellow. There are always exceptions to the rule, but let’s talk it out to make sure it’s a fit for the backdrop.


Make Sure Everything’s Pressed/Crisp

Little details matter, so make sure that jeans are wrinkle-free, shirts are freshly ironed, cuffs are crisp, nails are clean, and hair is freshly washed and styled.

What to Bring?

To prop, or not to prop? It's always best to bring more and not need it, than to bring nothing and wish you had it! Props are there to enhance or showcase something important to you during your high school career! Most seniors bring their cap and gown and one other item if they want!
